I'm a bit dismayed by a remark made by Mark Foley's lawyer, David Roth, to the New York Times. Apparently,
Mark Foley has never, ever had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor in his life. He is absolutely, positively not a pedophile. Now, I understand that all that's come to light thus far are emails and IMs, and as of yet, there's been no mention of any physical affairs. But isn't the fact that he had such conversations with underage boys proof enough that he's a pedophile? Wouldn't we consider someone who looks at child pornography a pedophile, even though they might just be looking and not touching?

Unfortunately, Apple is not as eco-friendly as I had imagined. Of course, I imagined this goodness merely because 1) they're Apple and 2) they're associated with Al Gore, but there are people who have actually done research on this, and it seems Apple actually does quite miserably when put to the test. My friends came by to visit this weekend, one last hello before I head to Brazil next week. They ended up arriving at my house at around 8:30 a.m. and leaving at 3:30 p.m., so it was a quick visit. I hardly feel like an adult these days, what with quitting my job and moving to another country, but as they left, I couldn't help but feel that we are, actually, or at least they are. When did that happen?
Aww, I'm SO glad you said "one last hello" instead of "one last goodbye." I hope you update your blog regularly when you're in Brazil!
