When Al Gore first launched a presidential campaign, back in the late 80s, he claimed that his run was inspired by the thousands of people who wrote him letters, asking him to run. It was a laughable claim back then, typical of a young Al Gore known for a bit of hubris, a freshman Senator who was still making a name for himself.
The thing is, these days, thousands (millions?) of people are asking him to run. And he would be the perfect candidate, if only he was willing to give up the sanity of non-presidential life.
Oh my, I just wish he would. The world would be a much better place today if the electoral college did not exist.
What? No support for your fellow Chicagoan, Obama?

I don't see substance, yet, and even if I did, he doesn't have the experience and political freedom that, now, Gore does.
ReplyDeleteNot that I really believe that he'll run, but a girl can dream..
