I have been riding the subway a lot lately, what with the interviews, key-exchanges, and househunting. It gives me a time to read, and to people watch, and to think somewhat bitterly about how much time I spend transporting myself here and there.
With the cold, I tend also to observe people's winter attire, having recently become the owner of a wool coat, the first true winter jacket I have owned in 9 years. There are less people with black coats than I imagined, probably because, like me, they did not want to fall into that category of boring. There have been, more than I imagined, little old ladies in long fur coats with similar hats to match, as if out of an old film.
I don't think I can compete, but at least I am not as poorly dressed as I was my first summer.
would you care to describe your fab coat for your ever eager audience?
ReplyDeleteHey Vanitha,
ReplyDeleteAs I am sure your sister told you, I am moving to New York in May. Very eager to hear your thoughts about apartment hunting, etc. and to meet up with you when I am out there for a week at the end of March. But I lost your email address... can you email it to me? leahvivi@gmail.com
Good luck with everything,
Leah
It's tweed. (Or herring bone?) Olivish-brown. Goes down to mid-thigh.
ReplyDeleteI think you will just have to see it.
