We All Scream

I gave my grandfather ice cream today. He's not exactly a fan of anything cold (he heats up his drinking water for a few seconds in the microwave), but I offered him some and he agreed to it.

He ate it slowly, with his eyes pinched, and commented that the coldness "climbs" (I'm not sure how to appropriately translate the Tamil), but afterwards he asked for more. Double or triple what he'd had the first time, in fact.

He eats his ice cream very carefully - opens his mouth and drops the ice cream in from above, so as to avoid touching his teeth. He seemed impressed that both my sister and I consume it, more impressed that I can put the spoon directly into my mouth and let the ice cream touch my teeth without shuddering.

If only I could add "eat ice cream on a semi-regular basis" to my resumé.
